Dead Apostle
Those who became a vampire by being bitten by a True Ancestor or by achievement of a magical research. They need to suck blood in order to survive but as long as they are able to do that, they are immortal.
The term originated from the loyal servants of True Ancestors who donated them blood so their desires won't go out of hand. "An apostle who's already dead." They eventually escaped the domination of the True Ancestors or something happened to their masters, and that's the beginning of the human vampires. Today it is just used to refer to the vampires harmful to humans by the Church.
Normal steps for a human to become a dead apostle: While their blood's being sucked, a small amount of the vampire's blood enters their body -> The body can't die -> Ghoul -> Living Dead -> Vampire. Not everyone can become vampires; only ones with high magical potential. The probability of one becoming a vampire is about 1 out of 10,000 and it takes years and years to become one too. These children of the vampires have to naturally obey their parents, but also start creating children for themselves. Thus this is an endless chain.
To ease their boredom of their long life, they play the game of territory expansion; How many more minions they can create than others. But they need to do this secretly to avoid the Church. Additionally if they have a chance, to assassinate the remaining True Ancestor(s?). On the other hand, some of them who became a vampire by their magical research has a purpose of their own. Many dead apostles today, however, considers to maintain the balance between society and themselves, and does not go all out drinking everyone's blood. Although some like the Forest of Einnashe do.
The super powers that Dead Apostles have don’t necessary come from the blood of vampires, but it's really the time they can spend on polishing their abilities by having an eternal life.
